Artwork Statement

We live in a schizoid data culture. The connections between what is physical, earthly, organic and what is imagined, speculated and virtual are now entwined more than ever before. This interactive art shows the transformation of data and digital representations of capital from a symbolic and speculative level to real objects, cables, server farms, gigantic fossil fuel resources, as well as a huge amount of human labor maintaining their infrastructure.

Patryk Lichota (PL) 

Musician, composer, multimedia artist, academic researcher, webVR and AR developer, and curator. Assistant prof. in the Inst. of Theatre and Media Art at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In his research work, he deals with VR and telepresence, cybereschatology, interactivity, sound studies, the theory of new media, and critical media.
